2007 Golf Tournament Raises $112K!
Our seventh annual Fran Delaney Foundation Golf Tournament was held at Sky Meadow Country Club, Nashua, NH on August 20, 2007. This was our most successful event to date! It’s hard to believe that this year we had more sponsors and more golfers than years past. When the day was done, an incredible $112,000.00 had been raised for research into a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. This brings the total raised to date by the Fran Delaney Foundation to $1.98 million. We are closing in on the $2M mark!
Fundraising events are the key to scientific research. Researchers can use these funds to explore areas of promise in the search for a cure. As Dr. Robert Brown, Director of the Day Neuromuscular Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, has said, “The funding from the Fran Delaney Foundation is the source of our most creative and experimental work.” We will direct the proceeds of this year’s Fran Delaney Foundation golf tournament to the scientists who are leading the search for a cure.
On behalf of our all-volunteer Fran Delaney Foundation Team, we want to thank everyone who supported our Tournament. To our golfers, our sponsors and everyone who was there with us and played a part in keeping Fran’s memory alive, thank you!
Mark your calendars now for next year’s Tournament to be held August 18, 2008.
Lou Kobbs,
Tournament Director
