About Us

A Comment From Fran...

"We wanted to do something that would make a difference in our fight to find a cure for ALS. We decided the best way to fight this disease was to raise awareness and money to fund research."

About the Fran Delaney Foundation:

The Fran Delaney Foundation (FDF) is an all-volunteer team dedicated to raising awareness and money in support of ALS research. Our Foundation will continue to raise money through at-large contributions, corporate sponsorships and event-based awareness and fundraising activities. Our team has planned, organized and managed over 60 awareness and fundraising events that have included 750 FDF volunteers and raised more than $2.1 million. As an all-volunteer foundation all net proceeds go directly to ALS research.

Our Mission:

"Our mission is to raise ALS awareness and money that we will direct to talented research scientists to find a treatment that will slow, arrest and cure this devastating disease."

Where the Money Goes:

We have made significant grants to the Day Neuromuscular Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital. We have also directed funds to Dr. Jeff Rothstein at the Johns Hopkins Packard Center for ALS Research. In addition, we have also made significant donations to the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

Proceeds from our 2009 FDF Campaign were equally directed to Dr. Merit Cudkowicz of the Day Neuromuscular Lab at Mass General Hospital, Dr. Jeff Rothstein at Johns Hopkins and to the ALS Therapy Development Institute. On an ongoing basis, we will review the most promising, high potential ALS research projects and direct financial support that will provide us with the greatest return on research.
