March 6, 2004 Angel Award Presented to The Fran Delaney Foundation March 6, 2004 - Fran Delaney, Lexington, MA I just wanted to share with you a very special award that was presented to our Team. It's pretty clear that the work each of you is doing is not only making a difference but is providing hope to many ALS patients across the country. I thought I'd share with you the following summary and attached picture from a very special evening. I know Brian, Tim and Karen all wish you could have been there with them. Dr. Robert Brown from MGH and Rich Kennedy, President of the Angel Fund, presented an award to the Fran Delaney Foundation on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel for their outstanding ALS awareness and fundraising work. Karen Delaney Lang, Brian Delaney, Tim Hines, FDF Executive Director, and Donna Hines attended the gala event and accepted the award on behalf of the FDF Team. Rich Kennedy presented the award. He said, "The Fran Delaney Foundation has become an icon in the ALS community for their work in raising awareness and money for research." Rich also read a letter from Fran to the audience of more than 300 people that shared his ALS challenge and thanked the Fran Delaney Foundation Team for their outstanding support and fundraising result. Dr. Brown went on to say, "The work this team is doing has really had a favorable impact in advancing ALS research. We are all grateful for their wonderful work." Tim Hines thanked Dr. Brown and his talented research team for their continued leadership in the fight to find a cure. Speaking on behalf of his family, Brian Delaney thanked the Angel Fund and especially the FDF Team for their continued support, friendship and dedication to advance research and find a cure. I just thought you all should know that the work you have done over the last three years has been recognized, valued and very much appreciated within the ALS community. You guys are simply awesome! Thanks, |
